Who We Are
We started out on our journey in 2007 with one simple objective; to provide great tasting fish and chips using the finest and freshest ingredients available.
To this day these are the core values we hold close, along with always trying to evolve and adapt in order to constantly challenge ourselves and ultimately improve.
Our produce
Potatoes
With the help of our local potato supplier - Thornhills and Son (Sandbach) we search the country to find the best potatoes for making the perfect chip.
This process isn't easy when you consider there are around 500 varieties of potatoes in the UK.
Some of the most common varieties we use throughout the year are: Agria, Maris Piper, Fontane, Challenger, Markie, Caesar, Saggitta and Lady Anna.
Fish
All of the cod we use in our shop is Icelandic frozen at sea. Due to the icy cold water it comes from it has a delicate colour, flakey texture and superior flavour.
It is also MSC certified which means it is fully traceable and sustainable. This is perhaps the most important thing to us as it means it can continue to be enjoyed for years to come.
Oil
At the start of 2020 we made a conscious decision to move away from palm oil to find a more healthy and sustainable frying medium.
After extensive research and testing we found that this high oleic sunflower oil from flav-oil was by far the best option.
This costly oil is an entirely natural, sustainable, plant oil with no cholesterol, no animal products, no trans fats and will not produce toxins at frying heat.
It is mainly healthy monounsaturated oil (Omega 9) which can even lower blood cholesterol. It is also very low in saturated fat and makes the best chips.
It is the healthiest commercial frying oil there is!
